Guy Terry PT, OCS
Guy is a board certified specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy with experience world wide between civilian and military careers as a therapist and technician, in varying practice settings. He is originally from Yukon, OK, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics before becoming a physical therapist.
Physical Therapy as a Career Choice
Guy began working in college as a rehabilitation technician in a specialty rehabilitation hospital in Edmond Oklahoma, serving patients recovering from strokes and other neurological injuries. He found quickly that he enjoyed helping patients recover basic and advanced life skills.
In 1995 he completed observations in military treatment facilities and was accepted to the U.S. Army/Baylor University Graduate Program in Physical Therapy. After graduation, he served at Fort Sill Oklahoma, Fort Meade, Maryland, and with the Multinational Force and Observers in Egypt, while working on weekends and holidays at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, OK. During that time he was able to attain board certification in orthopedic physical therapy while working in varied practice settings including EMG/NCS, wound care and acute care in the ICU.
In 2002 he left the active-duty Army to join Premier Rehabilitation – managing their largest clinic while working at their other locations in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. Believing that therapy was most effective when delivered according to the latest medical evidence, with personal attention, he left Premier to open his own company.
Since that time he has continued to serve in the military, as the Brigade Physical Therapist for the 56th Infantry Brigade Combat team, while also serving as a lecturer for the Texas Physical Therapy Association, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School’s Division of Physical Therapy, and with CEU Institute, educating physical therapist, physical therapy students, and worker’s compensation case managers and adjusters for Traveler’s Insurance and Dallas General Insurance.
